We’re looking for a strong engineering leader to guide our Gas Advanced Design team and play a critical role in the design and delivery of our high-pressure natural gas system. In this role, you’ll do more than manage projects - you’ll shape strategy, mentor top technical talent, and ensure our gas infrastructure supports community growth with safety and compliance at the forefront. This position offers the opportunity to influence long-term system reliability and leave a meaningful mark on both the organization and the communities we serve. You’ll work alongside experts who value safety, innovation, and professional growth, while building a team culture that attracts and retains top engineering talent.

If you thrive at the intersection of technical excellence, leadership, and collaboration, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

As the supervisor of our Gas Advanced Design team, you will:

  • Lead a high-performing team of eight natural gas engineering professionals focused on safe, reliable, and cost-effective system design
  • Drive projects from concept to close-out, partnering with the Project Management team to oversee scope, schedule, budget, as-built documentation, and final system turnover
  • Navigate complex regulatory and industry challenges, aligning design solutions with evolving natural gas industry standards, PHMSA pipeline safety regulations and state regulatory requirements
  • Ensure engineering excellence by reviewing design documents for safety, reliability, constructability, and cost effectiveness
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Operations, Engineering, and Construction partners to align priorities and system needs
  • Champion compliance and documentation quality, ensuring records are complete, verifiable, traceable, and audit-ready
  • Guide the maintenance and further development of the Gas Design & Engineering Manual
  • Coach and develop your team, supporting career growth, engagement, and long-term success

Who You Are:

We’re seeking a leader who combines technical depth with people leadership:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s degree and/or Professional Engineer license strongly valued)
  • Progressive experience in natural gas distribution design and pipeline safety compliance
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environments and utility infrastructure challenges
  • The ability to balance technical rigor with sound judgment, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and empower teams while holding high standards

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
