Temporary FT Technical Advisor – 1 Week Period

The Charleston Hub is seeking a temporary Full-Time Technical Advisor to provide technical support at the Charleston Conference for a 1-week period from November 4 – November 10, 2023.

Eligible candidates must be able to work in Charleston, SC and must be able to work up to 8-10 hours per day. Candidates must also be able to lift and move up to 100 pounds.

 

Responsibilities include:

 ·       Providing technical support and maintenance of all IT systems (both hardware and software) at the conference to support the computer needs for staff members and provide efficient and effective operations of the conference

·       Assisting with and stepping in as needed in any technical capacity required including video camera operation

·       Setting up and installing computers and printers as needed for hotel suite, registration desk staff and information desk staff

 

Qualified candidates must have:

·       Ability to work from Charleston, SC from 11/4/23 – 11/10/23 and provide on-site technical support at the conference

·       Ability to work up to 8-10 hours per day and outside of regular business hours as needed

·       Excellent knowledge of MS Windows as deployed in a conference setting environment

·       Strong knowledge of network topology, printer and network connections

·       Excellent PC and Mac hardware/peripheral knowledge

·       Excellent troubleshooting skills for MS Office and Google

·       Strong knowledge of web and graphics technologies (e.g. Adobe products)

·       Strong knowledge of video camera technology

·       Strong knowledge of Mac OX 10.4+ a plus

·       Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, diplomatically and patiently and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with staff/users

·       Ability to stand and walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl behind tables/desks or restrictive areas

·       Ability to lift, carry and exert force up to 100 pounds (to move equipment and packages) and occasionally assist with lifting, carrying and exerting force more than 100 pounds

·       Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time up to 10 hours per day
