Senior Research Analyst

Location: London, UK



We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join our London office.

As a Senior Research Analyst (RA) you are involved in diverse, challenging projects within a stimulating, collaborative work environment alongside senior consulting staff. The Senior RA role includes analysis, modelling, and research functions on client projects beyond the level of a research analyst.

Your work will directly support our Principals and Academic Advisors as they serve as expert witnesses before courts and arbitration panels on behalf of some of the most significant law firms, corporations, and government agencies worldwide.

Senior RAs have deep expertise in certain aspects of Brattle’s work and serve as leaders for the Analyst group. In addition to the responsibilities of an RA, Senior RAs work with limited supervision on complex analyses and modelling, managing and training RAs, and play a client-facing role on some projects.


Typical Assignments Might Include

  • Analyzing companies and markets; understand, perform, and supervise statistical/econometric analysis and estimate cost of capital.
  • Serve as a resource for junior Research Analysts: define their tasks, provide positive and negative feedback, teach technical and project management skills.
  • Use of data: solve complex numerical problems; Create compelling graphics, tables and charts to support the relevant arguments. 
  • Formulating compelling written deliverables; Produce documents/spreadsheets that are professionally formatted/edited and free of errors.
  • Creating robust economic, financial, and operational models.
  • Research and Project participation:  See connections and applications from one project to others; Independently determine the data or information research.


What We’re Looking For:

  • The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline and 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within the economic consulting or working for a regulator.  
  • The ability to couple research and conceptual skills with an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline  (e.g. economics, math, finance, engineering, data science, etc.) with strong academic performance.
  • Great team skills  – our project work is done almost exclusively in teams and it is critical that Research Analysts work well with others. A good sense of humor is always welcome!
  • Intellectual curiosity and quickness  – we are not just looking for professionals who do well in coursework, but for those who consistently want to learn/know more and who approach problems with creativity.
  • A high degree of ownership and commitment  – successful Senior Research Analysts are committed to going the extra mile to get things right and take ownership of their work.
  • Leadership presence – we look for people who regularly take a “front seat” role on projects.
