Learning & Development Specialist

Location: Multiple Offices


The Brattle Group is looking for a Learning & Development Specialist to join our Boston, MA, London, UK, San Francisco, CA, Toronto, ON or Washington, DC office. The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist will help create, develop, implement, and conduct training and development programs for all employees. They aid in the design and execution of learning initiatives and programs with a strong focus on the area of new employee on-boarding. The Learning & Development Specialist will also work on other HR related duties as needed.  This position reports to the Director of Learning & Development.


Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  • Organizes and coordinates bi-annual company-wide onboarding program, Brattle 101, for all new Brattle employees globally
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of all new hire orientation programs in collaboration with various departments and HR team members
  • Researches and recommends new programs or enhancements to training programs based on the latest trends to the Learning & Development team
  • Coordinates and plans various forms of additional live, remote and e-learning programs for Consulting and Corporate Services staff
  • Conducts needs assessments through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and HR Partners
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback. Provides feedback and guidance to instructors on various training techniques
  • Maintains records of learning & development activities, attendance, results of assessments, and retraining requirements
  • Creates and maintains training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials when necessary
  • Performs other related duties as assigned




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, or a related field preferred
  • 1-2 years in a Learning & Development or Human Resources role
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required, solid understanding of MS Excel expected
  • Experience with Articulate, Adobe Captivate, and/or other authoring tools is a plus
  • Adept with a variety of training platforms and methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and proactively solve problems
  • A team player, willing to collaborate, support, and encourage teammates when needed
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
  • Basic knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles
  • Perform duties of a confidential nature
  • Evening/weekend work may be expected/required
  • Occasional travel
