The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for an Office Manager to join our Toronto, ON officeThe Office Manager is accountable for the administrative and project needs of the Toronto Principal(s) by providing assistance in the areas of Principal administrative support, document and presentation preparation, project coordination and support, scheduling, and corporate services coordination.  This position is accountable for meeting the Business Support Services (BSS) needs of the Toronto office by managing all aspects of the office facilities. This position reports to the Sr. Business Support Services Manager (BSSM) and assists with corporate initiatives, and is often used on special projects.


Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop relationship with the Office Director and other principals and recommend corporate initiatives; act as liaison with client and others as requested and needed

  • Manage calendars, schedule travel and coordinate all meetings for principals; provide general support such as processing expense reimbursement

  • Work closely with Principals to manage their contacts

  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, proposals, and testimony for clients in Brattle format

  • Understand the flow of the “project life cycle”, initiate and/or coordinate project start forms, conflict checks, and proposals with principals, ensure timesheets are submitted on time. Perform monthly billing, ensuring billing worksheets and invoices are timely, submitted, and sent. Assist with budget tracking; alerting principals/project managers and accounting of any potential issues

  • Assist with the collection process; keep principals and Accounts Receivable updated as necessary

  • Liaise with building management for all day-to-day facility issues, ensure building list accurately reflects current employee list. Manage, issue, and remove access badges as necessary

  • Manage office seating, determine new employee seat assignments and ensure they are properly set up with permanent office space, furniture, file space, per the corporate standard

  • Implement and manage effective file management system for project and office files; assign space accordingly

  • Maintain relationship with local equipment vendor contacts and maintenance personnel, assess needs and recommend any additions to furniture, equipment or replacement as needed. Assess alternative vendor resources from time to time to ensure the most effective procurement arrangements and competitive pricing. Record, monitor, and enforce warranties




  • Bachelor’s degree desired, but will consider experience in lieu of degree

  • Requires a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in an administrative function supporting executives and a minimum of three (3) years of office management experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required, proficient knowledge of MS Excel preferred, database experience helpful

  • Familiarity with CRM database software is preferred

  • Fundamental understanding of building systems such as mechanical, HVAC, lighting, security, electrical, plumbing, etc.

  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities, planning and carrying out assignments effectively by established deadlines, managing several responsibilities simultaneously and meeting schedules and deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies

  • Experience with fast-paced office environment handling multiple tasks and demands

  • Must be able to exercise appropriate judgment and confidentiality

  • Exceptional customer service skills and an eagerness to go above and beyond

  • Evening/weekend work may be required

  • Occasional travel
