Communities In Schools is hiring a Regional Director of Programs in Austin, TX. The Regional Director is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of agency programs and service delivery, as well as the leadership of the campus-based program and target program staff. The Regional Director provides the necessary level of contract management, administrative oversight, training, and supervision to ensure that the expectations of funders, partners, constituents, clients, and community stakeholders are met.

 Essential Functions

  • Participate with key agency leaders in identifying, developing, and implementing programming opportunities to address the needs of clients in a designated level or program area
  • Ensure that programs and services contribute to and reflect the organization’s mission and priorities
  • Establish program goals and work with the Performance Measures Coordinator to develop a system for tracking results against these goals
  • Provide orientation and ongoing supervision, support, and training to program  directors to achieve the quantitative and qualitative requirements of multiple agency contracts
  • Model a creative problem-solving approach to program management while ensuring that the necessary planning is undertaken to ensure smooth programming and service delivery
  • Participate with key agency leaders in identifying and securing resources for programming
  • Represent the agency in various capacities in the community including  networking and collaborating with other agencies and funding partners
  • Serve as hiring team coordinator for vacant level director and program coordinator positions and participate on other hiring teams as appropriate
  • Participate in the CIS team approach to service delivery and problem solving
  • Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
  • Perform other activities and duties as required by the Chief Programs and Impact Officer

Experience and Qualifications  

  • Master’s degree in social work or comparable degree
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing a social services non-profit organization with an emphasis on children, youth and fami­lies is required. Clinical background/training is desirable.
  • Significant program development experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and team management including a strong background in staff supervision and team building
  • Familiarity with program evaluation
  • A record of achievement as an innovator
  • Hands-on program experience, ideally in social services or education

Reporting Structure:  This position is supervised by the Chief Programs and Impact Officer. The Regional Director of Programs supervises Senior Program Directors for Campus-Based Services.

What We Offer:  CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary for this position is $7,500/mo. Qualifications and relevant experience determine salaries. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity. We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, paying 100% of the employee premium for the base medical insurance plan and we provide a subsidy to support coverage for spouse/domestic partner and children. Location:  This position is an on-site, full-time position and will be required to work at the CIS central administrative office in Austin, TX. Frequent travel to visit CIS program sites and meet with community stakeholders in the Central Texas area is an expectation and reliable transportation is required.
