Organization: Heartland Alliance is one of the world’s leading anti-poverty organizations, working in vulnerable communities in the U.S. and abroad. Heartland Alliance serves those who are homeless, living in poverty or seeking safety by partnering with communities to break cycles of inequality. The organization is comprised of five nonprofit corporations, which provide a comprehensive array of services in the areas of health, housing, jobs and justice and leads state and national policy efforts that target lasting change for individuals and society.
Summary: The Associate General Counsel is responsible for carrying out a wide range of legal work for the organization. The Associate General Counsel will manage an independent workload and will also work with the General Counsel to provide legal services. Representative matters include reviewing and drafting contracts, advising on legal issues relating to proposed new programs, and counseling on employment law issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibility: With General Counsel, provides shared oversight of Executive Coordinator, delivering timely feedback to Coordinator and Executive Administrator.
