Senior Benefits Associate

The Senior Benefits Associate is responsible for the planning and administration of our employee benefit programs. This person will work closely with our HR and Finance departments to coordinate the daily processing of benefits. They will also be responsible for researching benefit plans, negotiating with vendors, communicating with employees, and resolving any benefit-related issues.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain and update employee records and benefits files
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing, including enrollments, terminations, and claims
  • Maintain and create records, reports, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and provider regulations
  • Advise and inform employees of the details of the company's benefit programs
  • Evaluate the efficiency and value of current benefit programs and make recommendations for improvement
  • Liaise with vendors and negotiate and coordinate contracts for new and existing plans
  • Design benefit appropriate programs with a focus on wellness in the workplace to improve health outcomes.
  • In partnership with Finance, manage retirement programs and coordinate investment committee meetings
  • Conduct regular audits on benefits enrollment data
  • Coordinate leaves of absence and support employees through the process
  • Manage the sabbatical program, to include coordinating with employees and leadership
  • Manage the service award program to include, tracking of eligibility, purchasing gifts, scheduling celebration events
  • Responsible for maintaining Everbridge, the emergency notification system
  • Responsible for maintaining records in Ultipro (HRIS system)
  • Provide support to onboarding of new hires


  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience as a benefits administrator or similar role
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and appropriately prioritize tasks as necessary
  • In-depth knowledge of different benefit plans 
  • Hands-on experience with HR software (HRIS), experience with UltiPro preferred
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence, and generate high-quality output consistently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work both independently and as an integral member of various teams
