The Senior Associate, Human Resources is a critical part of the HR/Talent team, partnering closely with all members of the HR team, and reporting to the HR Director.  The Senior Associate acts as an HR Business Partner, with primary responsibility for supporting the Advisory business unit at Bridgespan. They will work in multiple functional areas of HR, with a particular focus on driving the bi-annual performance review process for Advisory staff from start to finish in partnership with the HR Director. The Senior Associate is responsible for handling employee transfers and exits, conducting exit interviews, managing Bridgespan’s externship program, supporting immigration needs, owning various employee satisfaction surveys, assigning “people support” to new and existing staff, and owning data entry in our HRIS system.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Performance Reviews

  • The HR Senior Associate drives Bridgespan’s performance review processes for Advisory staff twice annually, including:
  • Kicking off regular review processes firm-wide; scheduling all review meetings
  • Creating and circulating “review trackers” to keep track of required reviews firm-wide
  • Collecting all reviews using Bridgespan’s SharePoint system, troubleshooting technical difficulties with staff
  • Keeping track of/ reminding employees of all review deadlines
  • Preparing and circulating materials for use in performance review meetings
  • Facilitating performance review meetings in partnership with HR Director
  • Handling follow-up from review meetings, including the promotion process
  • Owning “debrief” process after each review cycle


  • Act as primary HR representative for staff (AC through C) in Advisory Services
  • Partner with leadership to address individual performance management challenges
  • Handle employee terminations, conduct exit interviews, and coordinate logistics of employee departures
  • Manage the “People Supports” process at Bridgespan, ensuring each Advisory employee has a dedicated network of supporters
  • Support Advisory employees with transfers across Bridgespan offices & temporary externships
  • Partner with Benefits Manager on leaves of absence for employees in Advisory
  • Support Bridgspan’s immigration procedures (visa and green card applications)
  • Manage employee satisfaction surveys (i.e. “Case Team Surveys”)
  • Data entry for Advisory staff members in Bridgespan’s HRIS system UltiPro
  • Creating and pulling reports to assist with ad-hoc HR data requests
  • Responsible for maintaining updates to Bridge (Sharepoint system)
  • Create documentation of HR processes
  • Ad-hoc project work, including research projects and data analysis projects for HR team and the firm


  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 3-5  years of experience working within an HR team required professional services firms preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience working in performance management and supporting cyclical review processes
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks
  • simultaneously and deal with highly confidential information
  • Ability to drive project work (regular cyclical projects and one-offs) from start to finish with support from a supervisor
  • Comfort facilitating meetings  in different settings and speaking publicly; comfort with supporting and interfacing with senior leadership
  • Advanced PPT skills are required, plus comprehensive knowledge of other computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite
  • Enthusiasm for Bridgespan’s organizational values and commitment to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion

  • Orientation to continuous improvement; interest in improving systems
  • Experience with Ultipro a plus
