Mid-Level Software Data Engineer 

Why This is an Exciting Role:

As a Software Data Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), some of your duties will include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data integration solutions to support critical missions and enhance data accessibility across multiple DoD customers. You will leverage ETL platforms, cloud technologies, and data transformation processes to ensure secure, efficient, and accurate data delivery. Key duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with developers to meet data integration requirements and ensure alignment with IC ITE standards.

  • Design, code, and maintain ETL workflows to transform, validate, and deliver data efficiently.

  • Enhance ETL platform capabilities to shorten timelines for future integration efforts.

  • Interface with external systems using HTML, SFTP, and other protocols to collect, validate, and ingest data.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for system architecture, development processes, and platform enhancements.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:  

Required Education and Years of Experience: 

  • 9 Years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.

  • A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a Master’s Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience

Required Qualifications: ​

  • Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain CI Polygraph

  • Specialization using the Databricks platform for building, deploying, and managing data and AI solutions

  • Experience building ETL pipelines, managing data pipelines, and working with large datasets using tools like Spark, Python, and/or SQL

  • Experience with technologies like Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, and Databricks Workflows

  • Experience with Advana

     

Desired Qualifications: ​

  • Active CI polygraph

  • Experience collaborating with data scientists.

  • Strong Python programming skills

  • Solid SQL knowledge for querying and data manipulation

  • Cloud platform experience, such as AWS, Azure, etc

     

Telework/Remote Availability: Limited Telework/Remote work currently authorized

Work Location(s):   Elkridge, MD; Reston, VA; Washington, DC; or Annapolis Junction, MD 

 

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$122,000 - $168,000
