Join the cutting-edge development team behind Altair Flux, a world leading software for low-frequency electromagnetic and thermal simulation, widely applied in automotive, aerospace, and high-tech industries. We have recently introduced topology optimization, a groundbreaking feature that automatically optimizes 2D structures of devices like electrical motors and actuators for maximum efficiency and performance. 
 As an intern, you will improve your skills and gain experience in shaping and improving this innovative tool, which revolutionizes how engineers can design lighter, more efficient electromagnetic devices. What You Will Do:

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated candidate to join Altair as a Scientific Software Development Intern.  Within a team made of confirmed scientists, you will be creating and developing new topology optimization strategies dedicated to 3D applications, building on and extending existing tools for 2D applications. As part of the Flux development team, you will work with the Agile method in an exciting, fast-paced international environment, tackling complex mathematical and physical challenges. You will have also the opportunity to apply cutting-edge optimization methods to real-world industrial applications. 

What You Will Need:

Basics:

  • Currently enrolled in a master's degree in applied mathematics, or equivalent
  • Strong programming skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English (international team)
  • Interest in scientific computing and optimization
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Fortran or C language knowledge  
  • Python knowledge
  • Numerical optimization knowledge
  • Thirst in solving complex problems
  • Basic electromagnetism knowledge
