Visualization Designer
Job Summary:
Our client in Palo Alto, CA is looking for a Visualization Designer. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
An Unreal Visualization Designer is responsible for creating high-quality renderings, designing levels, and implementing art assets, ensuring alignment with brand standards and design specifications. The role involves developing 3D assets and optimizing files for usage in Unreal Engine. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as the designer engages with stakeholders to present project updates and resolve a variety of challenges.
- Create models, blueprints, shaders, animations, fx, and sequences to build unique 3D environments.
- Generate initial concepts and ideas for 3D projects.
- Own the creation of a level and environment from concept to final.
- Manage, implement, and optimize assets.
- Develop 3D representations of a given concept.
- Design 2D art assets in Photoshop and Illustrator for concepting and use within Unreal Engine.
- Render still images or video, editing and compositing as needed.
- Establish the visual tone, color palette, and overall aesthetics.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their vision and incorporate feedback into the concept.
What You Will Need:
Basics:
- Intermediate Unreal Engine blueprint knowledge.
- Expertise in camera/vehicle animation, environment/world building, including perspective, lighting, composition, and scene framing.
- Ability to create compelling visual concepts within project requirements.
- Proficient in Unreal Engine as well as Maya, Blender, 3D Max or other polygon based modeling software.
- Balances a 75% artistic and 25% technical focus.
- Capable of quick prototyping and innovative problem-solving.
- Efficiently develops meshes and materials.
- Utilizes quick 2D paintovers for composition adjustments if needed.
- Proficient in building 3D environments.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas effectively to senior management.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to work independently, stay organized, and adhere to file naming conventions for easy access and collaboration.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Drive discussions around technical solutions, addressing issues collaboratively with team members.
- Growth Mindset: Pursue additional skills, such as animation, to enhance contributions and personal growth.
- Salary range: 78k - 107k annual.
Preferred:
- High-Quality Rendering abilities.
- Proficiency in VRED, VRAY, 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, and Adobe Suite.
- Asset Development: Work with NURBS and Polygonal data using software such as Studio, 3ds Max, Maya, or Blender; efficiently import and convert files from designers and engineers for rendering.
- Collaboration: Develop verbal communication skills to engage with designers, present project updates, and discuss outcomes with management.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor job progress, identify tactical issues, and suggest adjustments to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Adobe Suite Proficiency: Leverage advanced skills in Adobe Suite to modify and enhance images as needed.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines and delivery standards.
