Application Engineer

Job Summary:

Pre-sales and post-sales technical support to Altair customers for developing PoC’s using Altair tools in electronics and semiconductor industry (PollEx, FEKO, PSIM, StarVision PRO, EEvision).  Dealing with high-speed signals, SoC/IP/FPGA coding and debugging support.  Working on signal integrity and power integrity of PCB’s.  PCB design and verification, schematic, bill of materials (BOM) generation and review, and analysis.  PCB thermal simulation, analysis, and solution proposal.  Training customers on Altair tools.  Resolving customer issues.  Responsible for technical presentation of Altair’s electronics tools (PollEx, FEKO, PSIM, StarVision PRO, EEvision) to prospects and customers.  

Education/Experience Required:

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and 1 year of experience as a Application Engineer or any related position in design engineering.  Must have one year of experience in developing electronic systems including capturing electronics/electrical schematic, multilayer PCB design, simulation, prototyping and testing.  Telecommuting permitted- work may occur anywhere in the U.S.
