Software QA Engineer

Job Summary:

The successful applicant for this position will play an important QA role in automating and testing of Altair products in a multiplatform environment. In addition, you will work with other QA Engineers across Altair as part of our Quality Center of Excellence including Security Testing, Performance Testing, Automation and more.  

What You Will Do:

• Validate new features in the product against a wide variety of tests including functional, nonfunctional, security and performance tests.

• Design and implement a suite of prioritized test cases and corresponding test data to achieve comprehensive product coverage.

• Execute the test cases and report defects so they are easy to prioritize, reproduce and resolve.

• Review the documentation and tutorials and provide feedback to the technical writers.

• Create and maintain automated tests using various tools.

• Keep the automated tests and test case documents up to date throughout the development cycle by modifying/updating them as and when necessary 

• Report on the status/results of testing activities 

• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers and Quality Engineers throughout the release cycles. 

What You Will Need:

Basics:

• Computer Science Engineer: B E/ BTech
• 3 to 5 years of Software Quality Testing experience including Performance and Security testing
• Experience with scripting using Python
• Automation experience with Selenium, Pytest, Ranorex or similar tools and frameworks.
• Understanding of the software QA process and SDLC
• Knowledge of working in Linux platform and familiarity with the general Linux commands
• Strong communication skills, including written and verbal 

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Operating Systems such as Windows, UNIX/Linux and Mac systems is desired
• Knowledge of installing, finding packages and repositories in Linux platform.
