Job Summary:

Altair seeks Software QA Engineers to validate enterprise web application platform UIs, GraphQL APIs designed in the latest cutting-edge technologies. Our platform leverages the latest and greatest in web components, K8s containerization, CI/CD, and agile development practices. The QA team works closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Development Operations to keep new code moving through the software development lifecycle efficiently, and with a keen eye for quality.  Also, our QA team is constantly testing the latest and greatest in modern technologies in the ML Ops, data analytics, and data science industry.

What You Will Do:

• Engage in functional, regression, compatibility, acceptance, and end-to-end testing of software solutions

• Review and analyze functional and business requirements, and define/document suite of test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure complete testing coverage

• Execute test cases/scripts to test verify, and validate the quality/functionality of web applications

• Buildup and Execute Automated Test Collections to test REST API endpoints

• Identify and document/log defects/bugs, and re-test them when resolved

• Track defects through defect resolution, retest, and closure

• Well-versed with Software Quality Assurance - all aspects of functional, automated, and performance testing within a web application development environment 

• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle in an agile development environment and the role and responsibilities of QA within the team

•  Understanding the methodology and having the ability to test and validate back-end APIs systematically.

• Understanding the methodology and having the ability to systematically test and verify that front-end work products comply with UI/UX requirements

• Familiarity with testing tools, processes, and methodologies

What You Will Need:

Basics:

• Strong in manual testing, exposure in creating test setup and test environments for complex enterprise applications.
• Software testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging and testing scripts and tools.
• Experience in backend scripting languages - shell/python, etc.
• Experience in Java and test automation framework (like Selenium/Winium).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, etc.).
• Familiarity with Cloud Testing and a good understanding of container-based infrastructure on Azure/AWS (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Understanding of database concepts.
• Experience testing on Windows/Linux environment.
• Ability to adapt to new tools & technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

•        Understanding of cloud architecture and CICD tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab

•        Knowledge of UI test automation and Visual test automation

•        Fundamentals of Linux administration and scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripts, Python, JavaScript..)

•        Understanding of Agile development practices
