Building Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is looking for a Building Maintenance Specialist. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

Under general supervision, this role involves specialized maintenance and mechanical repair of the department’s facilities to ensure continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review work requests, progress, schedules, and priorities to ensure efficient use of personnel and equipment.
• Handle emergency and unscheduled work requests, arranging prompt services.
• Perform quality control to ensure repairs and work are completed correctly.
• Prepare reports, work orders, and documentation as required.
• Respond to customer requests, status updates, and complaints; research and resolve issues appropriately.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Electrical systems.
• Mechanical systems.
• Plumbing.
• HVAC.
• Infrastructure repairs and maintenance.

Additional Duties:

• Conduct safety and environmental checks, coordinating with building engineering and management.
• Support janitorial services to maintain cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Assist with parts operations, including scrapping and disposal.
• Operate material handling equipment such as Hilo, Skid-Steer, and Pallet Jacks.

Basics:

• Interpersonal Relationships/Customer Service: Develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with employees.
• High School Diploma.
• 5 years of Maintanence experience.
• Computer Skills: Utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and related software to complete administrative tasks efficiently.
• Time Management: Plan and organize daily work routine, estimate completion times, and establish personal schedules accordingly.
• Regular performance of moderately physically demanding tasks.
• Combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials.
