Who we want:

The ASPIRE Program (Achieving Success through Parental Involvement Reading and Education) of Communities in Schools of Central Texas is seeking an Adult Education Instructor responsible for planning and providing adult education classroom instruction. This will include planning and providing classroom instruction in a multi-level adult education classroom integrated into a family literacy program.

What we offer:

CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $3,541/mo.  Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint, depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree is required 
• Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience to adult learners
• Five (5) years of experience may substitute for a degree.

What you'll do:
 

• Provide instruction to students in areas of basic literacy, ESL, ABE and GED using a variety of teaching methods and strategies
• Plan classroom teaching based on programmatic themes and individual student needs and goals
• Administer formal and informal adult skills assessments
• Coordinate classroom activities with other instructors for integrated approach
• Participate in outreach, recruitment and enrollment of adult students
• Record and maintain student outcomes and data
• Participate in the CIS team approach to problem-solving
• Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
• Perform other activities as directed by the Adult Ed Coordinator or ASPIRE Program Director

Report Structure: This position is supervised by the ASPIRE Adult Education Coordinator.

Work Location:   This is a full-time position based at the ASPIRE site located in Austin, TX.
