Supervises: May supervise volunteers, work-study students, interns, or AmeriCorps members as appropriate. 

Starting Salary:  $6,666.67month

Position Summary 

The Grants Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance, building strong outcome tracking systems, and driving collaboration between the finance, program, and grants teams. This role is central to aligning funding with measurable student outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of grant compliance and reporting. This role ensures that the organization secures and manages grant funding effectively, aligning with strategic goals and donor expectations. The Grants Manager collaborates across departments to gather data, craft compelling proposals, and maintain strong relationships with funders.

The Grants Manager will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong project management skills, and bring experience in change management to lead others through organizational transitions.
 

What You’ll Do 

  • Oversee grant compliance for public and private funders, ensuring timely reporting and adherence to funder requirements.
  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking program outcomes, aligning grant deliverables with student success metrics.
  • Review and align allowable and unallowable expenses across grants; provide clear, timely reporting to both the finance and program teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with program staff, finance, and development teams to ensure accurate budget alignment and reporting.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with grant officers and institutional funders
  • Prepare financial and narrative reports for funders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational outcomes.
  • Build infrastructure for performance measures and data integrity across departments.
  • Support internal audits and monitoring visits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Lead cross-departmental collaboration to strengthen systems for outcome tracking and performance measurement.
  • Provide training and support to staff on grants management processes.

 

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in grants management, compliance, or related nonprofit financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit funding streams (federal, state, local, and foundation).
  • Understanding of financial statements and budgets.
  • Experience working with Excel, spreadsheets and case management database systems; Salesforce experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities.
  • Strong skills in project management and change management, with the ability to lead teams through transitions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing deadlines.
