This position will be a developmental program for future Project Managers of which the necessary training and experience to fill a Project Manager position through mentoring and practical experience.
Assist Project Management group with daily activities including, but not limited to, preparation for kickoff meetings, project cost meetings and field planning (meetings, planning sheets, checklists, maps)
Manage a light project workload under close supervision of Manager of Project Management Services and other project managers as assigned
Assist in the coordination of field repairs with internal departments and customer as required
Review revised drawings, NOC’s for scope changes in preparation for change orders
Visit project sites prior to erection to review status, concerns and communicate Fabcon Field process to the customer
Attend project site meetings as necessary
Shadow project managers in review and negotiation of contracts
Attend scheduling meetings and maintain project timelines as required
Assist in review of specifications and coordination of submittal requirements
Assist in coordination of the drawing process with customers (OFA, FE and DMLO approvals)
Assist in obtaining quotes from subcontractors and the development of the subcontractor base
Assist in coordination of closing out projects both in collections, punch-lists and documents required by contracts
Assist in handling 10 and out plan, tracking activities on projects to completion
Following up on materials needed for completion and subcontractors as required
Review OFA drawings for compliance with scope outlined in kickoff
Assist in preparation of EAC’s for timely loading of bids
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Customer Service focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good computer skills; Word, Excel and Outlook
An understanding of construction with the ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in construction industry
Office: Move 25lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time
Travel: Some travel by car and/or airplane may be required
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
