Purpose/Scope:

To ensure Fabcon plant and field locations are compliant with external environmental regulations and internal environmental standards.  Lead the execution of the corporate environmental sustainability efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with local, state, and federal environmental operating and land use regulations
  • Maintain environmental written programs and plans (i.e. SPCC, SWPP, etc.)
  • Manage the corporate environmental calendar
  • Complete external environmental reports, records, etc. and submit to the appropriate agency 
  • Lead the execution of internal environmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Develop and implement environmental training programs for the organization and provide effective company training
  • On-site compliance audits
  • Develop and run compliance data management systems
  • Environmental assessments and analyses for environmental projects
  • Management of issue resolution and assist with community relations/government affairs
  • Assist in the development of the Environmental sustainability strategy
  • Lead the execution of the Environmental sustainability strategy
  • Enhance Fabcon’s ability to implement and gain benefits from green business
  • Performs test or experiments requiring the use of nonstandard procedures and complex instrumentation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or similar
  • 5+ years of environmental experience

Other Required Qualifications:

  • In depth analytical skills to resolve complex issues
  • Knowledge and experience with environmental permitting requirements (air, water, waste)
  • Knowledge and experience with Environmental Sustainability
  • Knowledge and experience with maintaining written environmental plans, programs, and permits

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree Environmental Science or similar
  • Environmental certifications or designations (i.e. Certified Environmental Systems Manager)
  • Environmental category certifications (i.e. Storm Water Operator)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel
  • Office: Move 25lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time

Work Environment:

  • This position works in an office environment with occasional travel and visits to the plant, yard and field construction sites
  • Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
  • Field (periodic visits): All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles
  • Plant/Yard (periodic visits): All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
