This position, which reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for coordinating and processing all incoming and outgoing shipments.  Also provides timely cost-effective support to the production effort by ensuring accurate weights and transfer of materials.  This position is also responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of inventory balances through the regular cycle count and annual physical inventory processes.  In addition, this position is responsible for supervising the melt make-up process and the process of shipping scrap materials to JM’s West Deptford NJ site for de-alloy/reclaim. 

The incumbent is the focal point for West Coast and West Whiteland customs compliance and procedures. 

The incumbent maintains, enforces, and monitors security procedures as they relate to the secure handling and tracking of precious metals. 

The incumbent directs, schedules, and coordinates the shipping/receiving activities at the West Whiteland site.  This would include verifying counts, weights, and taking samples for impurities. This is to include the direction and assistance of the West Coast sites. 

Incumbent schedules all labour, including overtime and transfer of personnel to ensure the completion of orders according to the schedules agreed upon by Production and Sales Management.  

The incumbent makes daily inspections of their equipment to ensure safe operating conditions and continuous equipment operation through preventative maintenance.  Also holds monthly safety meetings, and bi-monthly safety walk throughs. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensure proper control of all precious metals during process and assure loss standards are not exceeded 
  • Support the sites goal of 98%+ OTIF by ensuring all customers for which material is available ship on time and in full every day 
  • Issue activity reports to the Supply Chain Manager 
  • Responsible for weighing and logging all precious metal in or out of the vault area 
  • Ensure that incoming material is entered into company inventory 
  • Secure all precious metal material in the vaults at the end of the shift 
  • Maintains security of vault area 
  • Validates shipping registers on a daily basis 
  • Maintains customer compliance and retention policies 
  • Plays a key role in annual inventory 
  • Assure maximum utilization and efficiency of equipment and hourly personnel to provide the greatest productivity. 


Are you the ideal candidate? 

  • High School diploma or equivalent with three to five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Strong command of English and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Must demonstrate skills in leadership, planning, organization, problem solving, communications and the ability to learn
