The Opportunity

The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for maintaining daily traffic logs for WBEZ and Vocalo, website banners, livestream preroll, and podcast spot inventory.  This position works closely with many departments, including Content, Corporate Sponsorship, Membership, Marketing, Digital Development, Finance, and Development.  The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all underwriting scripts adhere to FCC guidelines and internal guidelines, and works with the Account Executives when adjustments are needed.  The Traffic Coordinator provides campaign updates and reporting for broadcast and digital campaigns.  The Traffic Coordinator will act as the administrator for Marketron, which includes adding news users, troubleshooting system errors, creating new advertisers/agencies, creates new inventory categories, types, and other maintenance tasks as needed.  The role will also maintain Streamguys and Adswizz platform including creating publishers and zones for new digital properties and troubleshooting errors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all broadcast scripts adhere to FCC and internal guidelines.
  • Input scripts into Marketron and send to Programming for recording.
  • Input promos and NPR newscast carts into log.
  • Reconcile log daily, reschedule any makegoods, and post for monthly invoicing.
  • Update pledge clocks.
  • Ensure all digital scripts adhere to internal guidelines.
  • Ensure all banners adhere to internal, IAB, and Google Ad Manager technical specifications.
  • Traffic website banners and digital audio.
  • Create digital orders for the Market Enginuity National Team.
  • Create orders for internal, trade, and Development spots.
  • Monitor delivery trends and optimize campaigns and inventory.
  • Provider reporting on inventory, campaigns, and fulfill other reporting requests.
  • Approve, publish, and schedule Sponsorship orders.
  • Administer Marketron including managing users, updating categories, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Attend regular meetings with various Traffic stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

  • College degree in Broadcasting, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in media broadcasting in a traffic capacity.
  • Solid time management, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once with multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess sharp judgment with the ability to make critical decisions.
  • Experience with radio/TV traffic and billing software, preferably Marketron Traffic/Mediascape.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to alternate betwen working in a team environment and independently.

Due to current COVID restrictions, you must be able to work remotely at your own designated location with Internet access and you must be willing and able to work at our Navy Pier offices, if needed. Right now, most of our staff is working remotely.
