Role Overview
This position exists to assist in implementing the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies Enterprise Business Continuity Management Program. The Business Continuity Management Program builds operational resilience and ensures the organization can effectively prepare for, mitigate, respond to, and recover from business disruptions. This position will assist in coordinating the design, development, maintenance, and exercising (testing) of Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Pandemic Preparedness plans.
Work Arrangement
· Hybrid (Newtown Square, PA area)= Associate must be in the office at least three (3) days per week, including core days of Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Responsibilities
- Research and provide information on current trends and best practices
- Interpret contractual and regulatory requirements as they apply to business continuity activities and ensure full compliance with these requirements in addition to internal organizational policies and standards and the enterprise risk framework
- Conduct and document line of business and corporate shared service business impact analyses (BIAs) and business continuity risk assessments
- Support business units in developing and documenting continuity and recovery strategies. Drive the development, maintenance (including reviews, updates, approvals), and testing of the line of business and corporate shared service Business Continuity Plans
- Support the development, maintenance (including reviews, updates, approvals), and testing of Crisis Management and Pandemic Response Plans, and support the development and maintenance of supporting documentation and templates for business continuity and crisis management
- Support program management, including the development and maintenance of business continuity policies, standards, and procedures, status tracking, training and awareness activities, and reporting to build, mature, and sustain the program
- Train and support business continuity role holders (e.g., Business Continuity Plan Owners and Facilitators)
- Facilitate alignment and coordination with Information Solutions Disaster Recovery, Corporate (Physical) Security, Corporate Communications, HR, and other key internal stakeholders
- Participate in and support internal/external audits and regulatory inspections of the Business Continuity Management Program
- Support business leadership and management in the response to disruptions and crises via the implementation of business continuity and crisis management plans, participating in crisis/incident management meetings, assisting in the documentation of the response, and conducting after-action reviews. Support crisis management activities that may require work outside of normal business hours
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in business continuity, crisis management, risk management, emergency management, security studies, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field required
- 3+ years of experience in business continuity/disaster recovery planning, maintenance, and testing
Licensure
• Business Continuity and/or Crisis Management certifications (e.g., ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, CBCI) preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Experience in Project Management preferred
- Experience in Medicaid, Medicare, health insurance, the healthcare industry, or other highly regulated industries is a plus
- Knowledge of ISO 22301 preferred
- Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Incident Command System (ICS), and crisis/incident management frameworks preferred
- Administrator user experience with emergency/mass notification and/or business continuity planning tools (e.g., Everbridge, Alert Media, OnSolve, Riskonnect, Fusion, Business Continuity in the Cloud, etc.) preferred
- Ability to interact effectively with associates at all levels of the company
- Able to multi-task on an ongoing basis; proactive and able to prioritize
- Takes initiative to drive tasks through completion
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication ability, oral, written, and presentation skills, to all levels of the organization, vendors/suppliers, and external parties; solid teamwork and interpersonal skills
