Job Overview: The Programmer Analyst Senior  develops and maintains software applications that support clinical, research, and administrative functions. This role involves a mix of programming and analytical skills, such as writing and testing code for electronic health records (EHRs) and member portals, analyzing data to meet research needs, and ensuring seamless data transmission. They work to create, customize, and support systems that help healthcare providers and our population health team make better decisions, manage operations, and ultimately ensure our members receive the optimal level of care. 

Work Arrangement:

  • Remote role.
  • Monday through Friday from 8a EST to 5p EST.

Responsibilities:

  • Software Development & Testing
    • Develops using enterprise wide standard programming language(s).
    • Maintains existing code base and implements new features.
    • Unit and system tests software to assure quality.
  • Analysis & Design
    • Carries out systematic problem identification, analysis, and resolution.
    • Analyzes and reduces complex problems into simple, manageable components.
    • Develops technical design specifications.
    • Participates in technical meetings as required.
  • Problem Solving & Judgment
    • Evaluates technical performance challenges and recommends tuning solutions.
  • Communications & Documentation
    • Conveys ideas clearly and tailors communication based on selected audience (technical and non-technical).
    • Charts various processes, procedures and workflows accurately.
    • Effectively composes technical and non-technical documents such as design specifications, operation guides, process flows, and other technical schematics.
    • Writes and updates task/project status and reports.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare IT/healthcare analytics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in SSIS and SQL Programming.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Tableau experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing in Visual Studio .NET and C#.
  • Solid understanding of object oriented principles, design patterns, and core principles of code reusability and extensibility of solutions.
  • Experience programming in SQL (or similar SQL language) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience collaborating with a HEDIS team. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with HEDIS and/or healthcare data.
