The Software Developer will develop software for weapon control systems and test equipment in a Linux environment including low level programming, system configuration, and driver installation:

• Strong design and participation in design of system architectures
• Develop requirements, specifications and/or designs at the system, subsystem, component level, and/or for hardware/software test aids/interfaces
• Develop software to meet formal specifications
• Analyze requirements and develop specifications for software components
• Participate in debugging and troubleshooting of products
• Document software, including user interface and programmer APIS
• Conduct or participate in design and peer reviews
• Develop and modify and incorporate software/firmware code to existing and future systems for the incorporation and integration of system requirements
• Assist in preparation of technical data, including, as a minimum: design and procedural documents, technical reports, change proposals, operators/service manuals and software documentation
• Develop and maintain test support tools and equipment for system, subsystems, and component tests
• Ensure software is compliant with the latest safety standards for coding, current and projected systems, subsystem, and components and analyze results

Required Skills and Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
• Embedded systems development
• Strong C programming skills are required
• Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems
• QT Creator framework, VNC (Virtual Network Computing) very helpful
• Familiarity with serial communication interfaces (RS232, RS422)
• Familiarity with Git and Good documentation practices
• Familiarity with network interfaces (TCP/IP, UDP) and client/server architecture
• Analog/Digital I/O
• Familiarity using oscilloscopes and reading schematics

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Five years’ experience
• Experience with U.S. Navy Ships
• Experience with U.S. naval undersea warfare systems
