The Senior Visual Information Designer supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Corporate Communications office with approximately 800 visual information (VI) product deliverables annually, to support command communication goals, using Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). Use multiple mediums, including digital signage, website, social media, podcasts and other communication products as determined by the director, corporate communications:
• Design and produce technical and artistic illustration and graphic artwork for brochures, posters, exhibits, displays, and logos.
• Provide design, graphics, and production services for plaques and custom framing/matting.
•Perform design and development of 3-D models, audio, photography, animation and simulation products, shooting digital photographs, digital editing and production, and interactive/multi-media products.
•Design, develop, and produce physical exhibits, displays, posters, and banners.
•Provide editing into a professional audiovisual product in accordance with DoD and Navy as well as industry audiovisual standards, adhere to standards outlined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d), as amended by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (P.L. 105-220), August 7, 1998, and be usable by commercial news outlets.
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in fine arts, communications, graphic design or animation with the following type of work experience: Seven (7) years of related experience in developing visual information and graphic art products for various print, exhibit, web-page design, digital audio/video, and on-line media.
• Expert in designing and developing visual information and graphic art products with demonstrated knowledge and capable of running graphic production equipment.
• Expert in the following software applications: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud Production Premium, OR Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe lnDesign, and After Effects.
Required Clearance
Must possess a verifiable Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
