ECS is seeking an ARPA-H Technical Writer (Scientific/Biology) to work in our Washington, DC (Hybrid) office.  Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

 

Job Description:

Are you a passionate Senior Scientist in Biology or related field that excels in providing scientific writing and technical editing in support of R&D initiatives?   Are you ready to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in their mission to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone by preparing briefings and reports that can communicate scientific and technical knowledge that inform stakeholders of the high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems?

 

ECS seeks talented and driven Technical Writers to join our team in support of ARPA-H.  In this role, you will facilitate the development of content and documents (reports, presentations, articles, etc.) in support of ARPA-H and its biomedical focus areas.

 

About ARPA-H:  ARPA-H accelerates better health outcomes for everyone by supporting the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems.

 

What you will do:

  • Prepare briefings, reports, and other documents to include strategic messaging in support of an ARPA-H Program Manager and the transformative programs being supported.
  • Apply your strong technical writing ability and oral presentation skills to translate scientific and technical knowledge and concepts into succinct deliverables that can be communicated and understood by a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Analyze, interpret, and translate ideas and issues into easily understood, clear and concise statements.
  • Conduct independent research, analyze data, and write reports as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with scientists, engineers, and other specialists from diverse backgrounds to elicit content for presentations and other reports.
  • Act as a technical writing functional expert in support of the ARPA-H Program Manager and other support personnel.

 

Required Skills:

  • At least 15 years of experience performing scientific writing and technical editing in a biology or related scientific field and in support of research and development.
  • Experience preparing briefings and reports that communicate scientific and technical knowledge into succinct visual/written deliverables.
  • Experience analyzing and preparing documentation, writing, editing, and interpreting technical documentation standards and preparing documentation accordingly.
  • Thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and ability to write clearly and succinctly is necessary.
  • Background in scientific writing and technical editing, specifically journal articles highly preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.

Desired Skills:

  • Three years or more experience, background, and knowledge of one or more ARPA Programs is highly desirable.
  • Two years or more experience working with ARPA Program Managers is also highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting complex R&D projects of a research and development nature.
