This is a Temporary/Part-Time/Seasonal Position Not-to-Exceed 119 days

 

Position Title: Staffing Coordinator

Exempt/Non-Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Human Resources Director

Supervises:N/A

Salary Range: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour (wage based on experience and qualifications)

Position Purpose: (general statement regarding the overall objective of the position):
Takes ownership of staffing function by listening to the needs of assigned supervisors and selecting the best qualified candidates for the annual OC Fair.

Essential Functions: (list of material responsibilities and essential duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position)

  1. Responds timely and professionally to inquiries in person or by telephone about qualifications and status of positions.
  2. Evaluates applications for minimum qualifications and the most qualified.
  3. Works collaboratively with assigned supervisors to ensure timely candidate selection.
  4. Screens applicants first by telephone then in person; prepares qualified candidate lists, and coordinates interview schedules with candidates and supervisors.
  5. Prepares interview packets including lawful interview questions.
  6. For scheduled interviews, provides supervisors with evaluation records if the candidate previously worked at the fair in a different department or classification.
  7. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  8. Demonstrates above average oral and written communication skills.
  9. Maintains accurate files (hard copies and electronic).

Qualifications: (Statements regarding minimum education and experience qualifications, required proficiencies with specialized knowledge, computer proficiencies, required certifications, etc.)

  1. Highly effective listening skills
  2. Previous staffing experience
  3. Solid understanding of state and federal employment laws
  4. Extraordinary time management and organizational skills
  5. Excellent computer skills and experience with recruiting systems
  6. Available to work some evenings and weekends as necessary for interviews

Special Qualifications: (Optional section: any travel, security, risk, hazard or related special conditions which apply to the position)

Preferences: (Optional section: preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualifications (i.e. multi-lingual, masters degree, etc.)

  1. Experience with Taleo applicant tracking system beneficial
  2. Bi-lingual Spanish may be helpful
