Position Summary:  

OutPLEX is searching for a Support Technician (Linux) to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation. Duties include maintaining desktop hardware and troubleshooting Windows desktop software. Also the candidate will respond to issues - resolution, routing or escalation, and ensure networks remain stable with maximum uptime. Additional duties may include participating in the implementation of the new business intelligence reporting tool, development of reporting changes to existing central and department reports and development of new queries and reports.



  • Communicate clearly with customers via various mediums (phone, chat, email) to provide exceptional support
  • Work with customers to properly diagnose, troubleshoot, and execute their requests
  • Recommend products or solutions based on customer needs and an evaluation of issues to ensure long term success
  • Install, manage, and troubleshoot software related to our hosting products
  • Provide support for a variety of third party software under our Beyond Scope Support umbrella
  • Keep apprised of pertinent technological developments and internal communications in order to stay on top of potential customer needs or issues
  • Attend ongoing trainings, meetings, and events 
  • Work with third party vendors to facilitate the resolution of issues
  • Be present in the office to collaborate effectively with supervisors, teammates, and interdepartmentally
  • Review and improve internal documentation
  • Provide support through ticket, phone, and chat
  • Provide job shadowing
  • Serve as an escalation point per supervisor’s discretion


Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:

  • 1+ years relevant experience
  • Linux (LAMP stack) knowledge and experience
  • Customer service skills
  • Experience within a help desk
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Basic proficiency installing, managing, and troubleshooting the hosting stack and various CMS/Server control panels
  • Basic understanding of server hardware, setups, and common hosting services
  • Proven customer service acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to establish rapport to develop and maintain effective communication in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to intelligently prioritize tasks and refactor as new issues emerge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Relevant Server Control Panel Certification (Plesk, CPanel, etc.)
