Job Description: Administrative Nursing Support

Supervisor: Office Supervisor/Branch Manager

Hours Per Week: 40hrs (7:30am-4:00pm)/Non-Exempt

Department: Nursing Services

HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days 

Primary Function: To support clinical staff and providers in the implementation and completion of administrative tasks. Which includes but not limited to duties and responsibilities listed below. To work as a team member in the joint effort of good patient care and communication.

Duties and Responsibilites (*Essential Functions)
1.    Scheduling/work queue management. 
2.    Answer incoming telephone calls from patients and specialists offices.* 
3.    Obtain medication prior authorizations from insurance companies and notify the patients, pharmacies and physicians.* 
4.    Process and close the loop on referrals, including but not limited to faxing referral and chart notes, notifying patients of outcome via MyChart or phone. 
5.    Troubleshoot referral questions. 
6.    Monitor and work the referral/prior authorization work ques and notify the patient when referrals have been approved or denied as needed. 
7.    Attend nursing meetings and in-services. 
8.    Fax outbound medical records as needed, sort and distribute inbound faxes to properrecipient. 
9.    Troubleshoot referrals and serve as a liaison between clinic and referrals dept. 
10.    Complete history numbers on all correspondence before sending to HIM. 
11.    Work respectfully and collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.* 
12.    Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home. 
13.    Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business. * 
14.    Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, customers and vendors. * 
15.    Abide by company policies. * 
16.    Attend work regularly as scheduled. * 
17.    Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:
⦁    High School Diploma or equivalent
⦁    At minimum 6 months healthcare experience

Preferences:
⦁    At minimum 6 months healthcare experience
⦁    Previous EHR experience
⦁    Previous clinic experience
⦁    Have an understanding of medical terminology
⦁    Able to respond quickly and accurately
⦁    Dependable
⦁    Possess initiative
⦁    Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills
⦁    Possess the ability to prioritize workload and assignments
