JOB TITLE: Mammography Technologist

SUPERVISOR: Radiology Manager 

HOURS PER WEEK: 40hrs/Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Radiology

HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Works under the direction of the Radiologist and with direct supervision of the Radiology Manager. Performs a variety of technical and aseptic procedures that requires independent judgment and initiative. Performs screening and diagnostic mammographic examinations according to established radiologic standards and procedures and all federal regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (* ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) TPC123
1.    Perform mammographic examinations as required by MQSA/FDA guidelines and by departmental protocols*
2.    Perform weekly and Monthly QC monitoring, charting and documenting of values on appropriate QC forms for Mammography. *
3.    Responsible for maintaining and cleaning of mammographic and non-mammographic equipment in department as needed per department procedures.*
4.    Provide basic nursing skills, quality patient care and give appropriate patient instructions as necessary for various procedures.*
5.    Perform and maintain all aspects of Quality Assurance needed to acquire and maintain ACR Accreditation. *
6.    Assure that all documentation and images are correct in EHR, PACS and teleradiology system. *
7.    Prepare mammographic images for Radiologist. Interpretation in a timely manner. *
8.    Maintain room supplies and equipment in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety for patients and staff.*
9.    Maintain ethical conduct in accordance with ARRT and The Portland Clinic (TPC) standards.*
10.    Maintain continuing education requirements as required by ACR/MQSA/FDA.*
11.    Maintain professional and cordial relationships with patients, clerical staff, co-workers, supervisors, radiologist and physicians.*
12.    Report incidents and accidents, unsafe conditions, malfunctioning of equipment and room supply needs immediately to supervisor or designated person.*
13.    Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home.
14.    Perform other duties as designated or as needed.
15.    Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business.*
16.    Work in a cooperative manner with management/supervision, coworkers, customers and vendors.*
17.    Abide by company policies.*
18.    Attends work regularly as scheduled.*

Equipment Used:
Mammographic equipment
PACS, EHR and Teleradiology software
Basic Office Equipment such as computer, telephone, etc 

REQUIREMENTS: 
Completion of Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology
ARRT Certification in Mammography and Radiography
Oregon licensure in Radiographic Technology
Meet and maintain continuing education and experience MQSA requirements in Mammography
Knowledge of MQSA/FDA QA/QC requirements
CPR Certification

PREFERENCES: 
Knowledge of mammography equipment, radiation physics, radiation safety, medical terminology and departmental protocols.
Knowledge of MQSA/FDA mammography federal regulations and requirements
Basic understanding of Infection Control
