JOB TITLE: Registration
SUPERVISOR: Front Office Supervisor/Registration Lead
HOURS PER WEEK: 40hrs (M-F 8am-5pm)/Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Access Services

HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To greet and provide excellent customer service to our patients. Provide patients with the correct paperwork, register patient as needed and answer patient inquiries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): 1. Greet patients at front desk, check in, register and/or update patient information including address changes, insurance changes, and direct them to the correct department or waiting area.* 2. Answer incoming telephone calls and direct to appropriate person. Determine if call is urgent and transfer to triage nurses/appropriate medical staff. Take phone messages for medical staff and providers when appropriate.* 3. Verify insurance via appropriate method.* 4. Sort, scan and send daily incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, releases, memos and other office documents.* 5. Schedule routine and follow-up appointments (as well as confirm future appointments if directed by department).* 6. Check the registration Daily Activity Report (DAR) each day in preparation for the appointments at your home location.* 7. Collect co-payments and/or other payments from patients.* 8. Balance daily cash drawer.* 9. Pre-register patients when scheduling appointments.* 10. Follow opening and closing procedures. 11. Monitor and complete appropriate Registration related reports and workqueues in a timely manner.* 12. Maintain appearance of patient waiting areas. 13. Ability to work under pressure with busy provider schedules* 14. Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home. 15. Attend ongoing job-related training. Training time may be outside of normal working hours.* 16. Work respectfully and collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.* 17. Attend all department meetings.* 18. Maintains regular work attendance and punctuality.* 19. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/LICENSES PREFERRED: High School Diploma or equivalent
