Work Schedule - HYBRID (2 days onsite at Ft. Belvoir and 3 days of telework/week)
Seeking a Data Scientist Analyst to support our government customer at Ft. Belvoir, VA. We are seeking a highly motivated and professional to support PEO EIS HQs. At this time, the position will be located on-site two days a week and telework three days a week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides technical support in the evaluation of prime object names, data elements, and other objects.
• Evaluates proposed objects and their attributes.
• Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
• Ensures that proposed object definitions are clear, concise, technically correct, and that they represent singular concepts.
• Ensures that the values of object attributes and domains are accurate and correct.
• Ability to communicate complex data science concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ensures that the proposed objects are consistent with data and process models.
• Creates and maintains data dictionary
• Apply data science and machine learning techniques for end-to-end development and deployment of data-driven insights.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Economics is required.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in the following in DoD - Army - preferred
• Demonstrated experience manipulating high-volume structured and unstructured data to perform analysis and generate reporting/products.
• Regular SQL use for querying data.
• Experience programming with at least one language.
• Use of statistical software (e.g., R, Python)
• Experience with Tableau (or other data visualization platform)
• Data Mining experience
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• MS Access Database experience
