OutPLEX is looking for a Labor Lawyer with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of enforcing local labor laws. This individual will drive labor law compliance strategies to advance the company’s expertise and uphold legal standards as a center of excellence, while also serving as a trusted advisor. 

Position Overview and Functional Responsibilities:
•    Responsible in providing professional legal services to the company including legal advice on labor-related issues, social security, contractual obligations, and general corporate law.
•    Serves as the company's official legal representative on any commercial or labor investigation, civil and criminal litigation cases, negotiation, or litigation, unless otherwise directed. 
•    Conducts research and provides legal support to Human Resources and senior organizational leaders to ensure knowledge and compliance on company policies and to adequately              address labor-related HR issues in both corrective and preventive manner. Provides updates on current legal and jurisprudential developments that will potentially affect the company.
•    Keeps abreast of all updates, changes to labor laws and any implementing guidelines. Will ensure that all stakeholders are updated – HR professionals and senior leadership team.
•    With regards to external complaints with or from the Colombian Ministry of Labor,  and any other related institutions, the incumbent acts as first point of resolution for labor-related     issues and concerns. Coordinates with the HR professionals (HR Business Partner, Managed Services or Talent Acquisition) for updates and next steps on ongoing and active labor cases.
•    Works with Human Resources team in developing policies, procedures, rules, contracts, other agreements, internal regulations, regulatory circulars, agreements, termination of contracts     in their different modalities and all those involving legal advice e.g. grievance procedures, due process, and in all such circumstances, ensuring compliance to labor laws, and business     requirements.
•    Serves as the in-house expert on labor and as such, is expected to research, develop and educate HR professionals and line management with regards to labor laws and other pertinent     legal related matters affecting the business. 
•    Serves as a primary point of contact for in reference to commercial or labor contract reviews and related negotiations in case there are matters in conflict with regards to contractual     obligations.
•    Conducts regulatory updates to all relevant business unit, maintain current knowledge about labor regulations, share information, and advise to Human Resources, Administration,               Payroll, Occupational Health and Safety, or other interested parties.
•    Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business and HR decisions.
•    Provide advice on legal language or clarification of any doubts that may arise in legal matters.
•    Advise the Human Resources team in the implementation and application of the company's disciplinary process, as established in the Internal Regulations, as well as make adjustments               when necessary.
•    Attend and manage consultations, complaints, petitions, etc., in labor matters at all levels.
•    Advise the occupational health and safety system (SG-SST), and the committees within the company, including the Comité de Convivencia Laboral and COPASST.
•    Advise and accompany contract termination processes, as well as negotiations or other related processes as needed.
•    To attend and manage consultations, requirements, summons or others that are made by the Ministry of Labor or inspection, surveillance or control agencies.
•    Represent and advise the Company in settlement agreements or conciliation hearings convened by the Ministry of Labor or others.

Requirements:
•    Preferred Experience, Skills & Competencies
•    At least 5 - 7 Years of Legal and Professional Practice
•    Experience in a multi-national law firm and/or company
•    BPO / Contact center background is a plus
Education and Required Certification:
•    Bachelor’s / College Degree, Post Graduate Diploma / Master’s Degree
•    Professional Lawyer License 
•    Studies related to labor law and social security are a plus
