Primary Purpose of the Job

Partners with the Executive Leadership team to ensure financial performance at or above plan and maximize enterprise value creation through both organic growth and mergers and acquisitions. Oversees all financial planning & analysis, accounting, internal controls, budgeting & forecasting, financial & operational performance measurement, cash flow, and tax. Responsible for planning, implementing, managing, controlling, and accurately reporting all financial-related activities within the portfolio, including leading and directing all activities and business needs for the Finance and Accounting department. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Essential Duties

  • Partner with the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Leadership team to establish the company’s long-term strategic and financial plans and targets. In concert with the company’s senior leaders, act as a catalyst for the activities necessary to support the growth initiatives of the company and foresee and resolve potential constraints on the pace of growth.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with all departments to ensure solid financial decision-making based on accurate forecasting.
  • Provide accurate, insightful, and timely financial analysis to support leadership in making strategic business decisions.
  • Work with each department leader to develop and maintain departmental operating budgets.
  • Provide strong oversight of financial controls, measurements, and systems to maintain the company’s fiscal integrity. Review and ensure appropriate internal accounting controls are maintained to reduce risk, eliminate inefficiencies, and ensure 100% accurate reporting.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board.
  • Manage the preparation and support of all external audits and serve as the key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Manage cash flow and investments, ensuring appropriate fund availability.
  • Ensure the Finance and Accounting team is an excellent business partner for each department and the company from a strategic and operational perspective.
  • Create goals and KPIs for the Finance and Accounting team that align with the strategic goals of the business and ensure their achievement.
  • Provide leadership over the Finance and Accounting functions, and provide development opportunities, mentorship, and guidance to encourage maximum performance and productivity.
  • Participate in due diligence efforts and financial analysis for potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic partnerships.
  • Influence prudent spending throughout the company, ensuring opportunities for savings are identified and captured. Provide oversight for the procurement process to develop discipline around software/vendor spending.
  • Identify and work with the Information Technology team to implement, adopt and maintain modern financial infrastructure systems (e.g., ERP system) and standardized financial processes.
  • Promote a shared sense of purpose and teamwork through inclusive decision-making processes and transparent communication strategies with the Finance and Accounting team. Encourage hands-on leadership through regular meetings to ensure the team feels connected and valued.
  • Maintain strong relationships with lenders, auditors, tax authorities, and other external constituencies, reflecting high levels of trust and understanding.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the CEO.
  • Stay informed of current policies and procedures.
  • Continued professional development through ongoing training and education.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) and/or CPA – preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, business administration or related fields with the last 3+ in a leadership role.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel up to 20% of the time. Use of a personal vehicle may be required.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing at a desk and while working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Regular interaction with other team members, including spontaneous and planned video meetings.
