Director, Strategic Sourcing

The Director, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategic sourcing category strategies supporting business profit centers, support functions and shared services.  This position will have a key role in leading complex sourcing and contracting activities with heavy concentration in information technology related services. This position will play a role in the execution of operational outsourcing vendor relationships. The Director will also be responsible for other assigned spend categories. 

The Director will establish objectives for a group of spend categories along with developing priorities; oversee and adjust the execution of sourcing and procurement strategies; lead the development and execution of reporting and tracking mechanisms; report on sourcing strategies and performance; drive cross-functional category teams throughout contract lifecycle efforts; enhance the definition of procurement requirements and operational needs; build relationships with key vendors; support the implementation of enterprise-wide source-to-pay tools; and drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies. This position works closely with the business units, IT, Finance, Risk, Legal, and other stakeholders to manage strategic sourcing strategies that drive significant value and impact for operations. This position directly supports total cost of ownership efforts for $100 - $200 million or more in spend with third parties and reports to the SVP of Strategic Sourcing.
 

Responsibilities

  • Drives data driven analysis of category spend and vendor contracts to identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership and optimize vendor value to Cenlar.
  • Develops and implements category strategies and vendor strategies, with a high concentration in complex information technology services
  • Identifies and evaluates outsourcing opportunities to meet the enterprise’s objectives and long-term strategic plan, in collaboration with the business units and support functions.
  • Works with key business partners and senior leadership to understand strategic direction, supply requirements, and business objectives and priorities
  • Develops and executes fact-based negotiation strategies with vendors
  • Leads complex contract creation, negotiation and execution with the collaboration of Legal
  • Drives thought leadership providing market and industry intelligence, innovation, and best practices including alternative supply sources
  • Builds strategic vendor relationships based on business criticality and size of relationship. 
  • Assists with the design and implementation of source to pay technologies and other strategic sourcing technologies.
  • Manages procurement/sourcing and stakeholder engagement (internal and external), effectively delegating activities, and monitoring tasks to drive process to successful completion
  • Interacts with all levels of management, including senior management, within the Company, with regulators, and with vendors to ensure strategic direction, operational, and quality goals are achieved
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar’s reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • CPM, MBA or relevant Master’s degree, preferred 
  • 15+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, contracting, vendor management or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and contracting for the IT function and adjacent categories
  • Financial services / mortgage industry experience, strongly preferred 
  • Business process outsourcing and vendor offshoring operations, preferred
  • Superior analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis, and draw accurate conclusions
  • Strong conceptual thinking skills with adeptness to lead others through ambiguous, challenging, and complex issues
  • Extensive experience managing change across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Superior contracting knowledge and experience
  • Superior negotiation preparation, execution, and creativity skills to achieve desired and productive outcomes from negotiations 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with strong influencing and persuasive talents
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and has the ability to effectively organize, multi-task, and prioritize a wide array and high volume of initiatives
  • An aptitude for innovation and a passionate curiosity for driving productive change

Pay Range Details
$111,850.00 - $177,842.00 Annually
The actual compensation offered will depend on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This range represents the reasonable minimum and maximum salary the company expects to pay for this position.
