Position Summary
Transform lives by serving as the resource for all safety related topics at all College locations. Interact with all employees, students, local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, OSHA, DSPS, DNR, and other appropriate agencies on matters related to safety.

Part-time position working 25 hours/week.

Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in developing and maintaining student and employee safety programs and emergency procedures; including HAZCOM, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Hazardous Control of Energy, Powered Industrial Trucks, and Emergency Response.

Conduct safety audits/assessments regarding all hazards associated with occupational safety and health.

Complete job hazard analysis.

Schedule safety inspection compliance.

Support College efforts regarding OSHA, DSPS, and all safety regulations and requirements.

Serve as a resource for departments and committees addressing safety, security and environmental compliance issues.

Participate as a member of the Risk Management/Safety Team.

Conduct safety and security checks/inspections of college facilities.  To include fire drills and severe weather drills at all campus locations.

Attend emergency management meetings and training sessions. Develop and maintain materials for Emergency Operations Center staff.

Adhere to, uphold, and assist in the development of College and Safety & Security Department policies and procedures.

Develop and maintain training materials for employees and present staff training as requested.  Maintain training records for Employee Safety Training.

Manage the College’s Hazard Communication Program and electronic Safety Data Sheet binder.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Associate degree in safety-related field required, or equivalent with experience and education combined.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field required.

Adult CPR with First Aid and Automatic External Defibrillation (AE) certification required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office required.

Must possess excellent problem resolution, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.

Must possess ability to:

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is dependent upon experience and qualifications.

A pro-rated amount of paid time off will be associated with this part-time position.
