Position Summary
Transform lives by ensuring equitable access to college programs and services for students with disabilities. This role includes coordinating accommodations, providing individualized case management, facilitating transition services from high school, supporting assistive technology access, and maintaining compliance with section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA and ADAAA). The coordinator is also a key member of the college’s CARE Team, providing support and follow-up for students referred for behavioral or well-being concerns.

Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct individualized assessments to determine appropriate academic and campus accommodations for students with documented disabilities, temporary conditions, and Title IX-related needs.

Develop individualized accommodation plans for students with disabilities based on documentation, interactive processes, and academic program requirements, ensuring alignment with legal standards and institutional policies.

Maintain timely and accurate records of accommodation plans and documentation.

Develop and implement programs and services to ensure compliance with section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Provide holistic case management for students with disabilities, including academic planning and progress monitoring.

Serve as a member of the CARE Team providing follow-up for students referred through that process.

Refer students to internal and external supports and follow up to ensure continuity of care and access.

Collaborate with local district high schools to facilitate the transition of students with disabilities into college.

Participate in transition planning meetings, share resources, and support pre-enrollment processes.

Coordinate with community-based organizations to support ongoing and wraparound services for students.

Coordinate and proctor accommodated testing, ensuring compliance with accommodation plans.

Collaborate with the college’s Testing Center to support testing-related access needs.

Maintain knowledge of current assistive technologies and their applications in educational settings.

Provide training and support to students, staff & faculty on the use of assistive technology tools.

Work closely with faculty and staff, the Academic Learning Center, Advising, Career Services, and others to support inclusive practices and accessibility.

Provide training and consultation to faculty and staff regarding disability awareness, inclusive instruction, and implementation of accommodations.

Participate in relevant committees and initiatives that support equity and student success.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Disability Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, or related field required. Master’s degree in related field preferred.

Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in an educational or service-related capacity required.

Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state disability laws applicable to higher education required.

Familiarity with behavior intervention teams (CARE/BIT) and student support case management models preferred.

Current ATP (Assistive Technology Professional) certification or willingness to earn the WisTech AT Certification preferred.

Must possess excellent problem resolution, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
