We are currently seeking a full-time Director, Wellness - Mental Wellbeing to join our on-site wellness team located in Jersey City, NJ.
This is an in-office role based out of Jersey City, NJ.
Job Overview:
As a Director, Wellness – Mental Wellbeing you will ensure long-term success of the client's Mental Wellbeing programs by guiding and supporting a holistic well-being solution that is tailored to the client’s needs and organizational culture. You will provide Mental Wellbeing and Resilience thought leadership by personalizing industry insights, best practices, and trends to the client’s employee population. Primary functions include Resilience and Mental Health First Aid strategy design and training development, program collaborations, and data analysis and measurement.
What you will do:
- Directs the client's Mental Wellbeing and Resilience offerings and oversees day-to-day operations ensuring effective service delivery and resources allocation.
- Manages Mental Wellbeing team and drives collaboration with other teams to ensure integration and harmonization across services.
- Leads development of Mental Wellbeing and Resilience trainings and directs flawless execution.
- Creates, develops, and polishes Mental Wellbeing communications templates and materials.
- Collaborates with Marketing and Communications colleagues to ensure communications and programming/marketing collateral are approved by relevant stakeholders.
- Assesses Mental Wellbeing needs using available utilization statistics and satisfaction feedback to identify opportunities and develop tactical project plans.
- Provides oversight and best practice guidance on Mental Wellbeing and Resilience to workplace and virtual wellness initiatives.
- Conducts impact analysis of Mental Wellbeing and Resilience initiatives and benchmarks programming against industry findings & Optum’s book of business.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and assist with a cohesive, holistic and data-focused strategy to drive health improvement and mental wellbeing among the employee population.
- Develops and executes project management activities nationally and on a global scale, with resource availability and allocation, reporting, and on-time delivery of projects, within scope and budget.
- Utilizes wellness-related data to monitor, track, forecast, and analyze trends and challenges and to identify opportunities to drive further engagement and value.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (health promotion, social work, psychology, health education, public health or related health emphasis).
- Five or more years of experience in health promotion, health management, corporate wellness, human resources/organizational behavior or a related field.
- Three or more years of people management experience.
- Two or more years of experience with implementation or large healthcare project management experience.
- Effective and engaging public speaking skills with the ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with clients and participants.
- Experience in trend analysis and communicating at an executive level.
- Demonstrated ability to research, design and implement solutions to problems involving analytical and creative elements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in multi-tasking, time management, problem-solving, and organization.
- Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valued but not required knowledge and experience:
- Master’s degree in a Health Promotion Management, Public Health, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
- Strong understanding of corporate communications principles and best practices.
- Related Health Promotion or Public Health certification such as: National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) certification, WellCert Certified Wellness Practitioner, CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist).
- Relevant experience with health plan, client and vendor management, and preferably experience with Optum’s employer market space.

Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, geographic differentials, and other business and organizational needs.
