What You’ll Do

As a Project Engineer, you will provide project management from scope conception through engineering, fabrication and execution for key Nitrogen projects. Duties will include:

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5’s, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
  • Supports Business Improvement initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility
  • Manage small to medium scale projects, MOC’s, Focused Improvement or Capex projects
  • Assist Operations as needed
  • Collaborates with site discipline Engineers, operations, shipping, and maintenance for successful planning, execution and handover of projects
  • Develop equipment designs and specifications for procurement
  • Evaluate prospective equipment suppliers and contractors
  • Contribute to process & equipment solutions and supplier development efforts
  • Deal with broad cross-functional technical issues
  • Understand and adopt all appropriate regulatory & safety needs to programs
  • Deliver the projects as promised to achieve financial targets
  • Participate in HSE studies such as Job Safety Analysis, HAZOPs, Process Hazard Analysis, and Management of Change
  • Evaluate prospective equipment based on process needs and application of best practice solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • 5+ years in a related industry with a proven track record in project management, problem solving, startup and commissioning.
  • Knowledge with the selection of process equipment such as pumps, vessels, and heat exchangers.
  • Familiarity with automated process control in manufacturing operations, including temperature, flow, level, pressure, and pH instrumentation.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player
