We are currently seeking a Director, Wellness Service Delivery to join our Workplace Well-being Service Delivery team.

This position is flexible to maintain a remote working arrangement via telecommuting.

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide operational leadership and multi-site account management for the performance of the wellness professionals (Health Promotion Specialist, Wellness Coach, Ergonomist, Program Manager, and Mental Well-being Specialist). The purpose of the position is to lead each unique client's wellness professionals to superior performance, represent Workplace Well-being to the client and the greater Optum account team and support the development of strategies and programs that positively impact the culture of wellness and drive health ownership with the client's employee population. The Wellness Service Delivery Director will work collaboratively with the wellness professional, the client and the strategic account team to develop wellness goals rooted in data and identify potential barriers to achieving established goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Meet and support revenue and profitability product goals and help analyze healthcare data and maintain other pertinent operational metrics.
  • Integrates on-site offerings with other Optum and UHC products and services where appropriate and is knowledgeable about Optum and UHC products and services.
  • Review plan benefits, health benefit design and identify appropriate programs and services based on heath needs and benefits to lead wellness staff in integrating health care and service needs on behalf of the clients they serve.
  • Assist the client’s Wellness leadership in establishing a coherent wellness vision and strategies that will result in improving the preventive health and resilience of the client’s employee population.
  • Identify and seek to resolve technical, operational and organizational problems and work closely with the client and strategic account management teams (AMT).
  • Takes primary human capital responsibilities which include, hiring, coaching, motivating, scheduling, training, developing, evaluating, assigning projects and workload to and, when necessary, terminating staff.
  • Communicates advocates and drives key business initiatives from corporate, product or enterprise directives.

Travel:

  • Significant travel to client locations (25 - 30%) is a requirement of this position. Not all travel may be local.

Requirements:

  • A current and active Workplace Well-being team member.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree, with a thorough knowledge of health, health promotion, engagement and behavior change, health care, health plan experience and wellness programming plus a minimum five years’ experience in management is required.
  • Willingness and availability to travel dependent on business needs and requests.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time management, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical and regulatory knowledge.
  • Effective and engaging public speaking skills with the ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with clients and participants.
  • Working knowledge of sales, marketing, and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated leadership success of leading in a matrix team environment while still achieving aggressive goals.

Valued but not required knowledge and experience:

  • Master’s degree in related field (e.g. health science, health promotion, business administration, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of health, health plan, fitness, ergonomics, nutrition, and other wellness principles.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Well-being’s business and/or exposure to the professional services environment.

For residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York City, and Washington only: The annual salary for this position ranges from $95,000 - $105,000. Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, geographic differentials, and other business and organizational needs. In addition to the hourly rate, Plus One offers a comprehensive benefits package (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements), which includes health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
