HYROX COACH
MISSION
To teach a safe, effective and fun group exercise class, adhering to class formats and guidelines as set by the Group Exercise Director. Help get and keep members involved in the group exercise program; help members attain and maintain their fitness goals through exercise. Represent the club's group exercise program in a manner that is consistent, professional and supportive. Promote participation in own class as well as classes of fellow instructors. Promote other club events and services to class clientele.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve foundation course as HYROX Instructor; keep certification current (+ CPR) and participate in continuing education in your profession
- Teach all assigned classes on a consistent and regular basis
- Arrive at least 10 minutes early for class to prepare; stay after class to interact with members
- Be available to substitute teach whenever possible
- Strive to maintain and increase your class size
- Teach to make students feel successful, and educate members on proper exercise techniques
- Make your students' safety and enjoyment your number one priority
- Convey warmth and genuine interest to the students: make eye contact, smile, use students' names, personalize the workout, even in a large class
- Utilize the group class setting to promote the group exercise department as well as upcoming club events and programs
- Commit to the position as a business professional
- Know and follow all club and group exercise department policies and guidelines
- Operate studio stereo equipment properly, with music at sound levels that are appropriate to class type and intensity, but also safe for students and not disruptive to the adjacent studio (where applicable)
- Ensure all equipment and props are properly used during class and properly put away / stored after class
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Group Fitness Director or Wellness Director
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates, with or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to:
- Write, read, speak, hear and see
- Achieve required certifications
- Properly demonstrate and perform all exercise / dance / stretch movements included in each class routine taught
- Perform assigned class for duration of class while cuing and coaching without becoming “out of breath” (i.e., maintain a level of cardiovascular fitness that allows this)
- Bend, lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
