BIRTHDAY PARTY ATTENDANT
MISSION
Host a well-organized, creative, activity-packed, and fun birthday party that creates great long-lasting memories for the birthday boy or girl, the party guests and the parents. Ensure that all party details (set-up, decorations, refreshments) are taken care of before party time. Greet everyone and make them feel welcome at the club. Take a genuine interest in all children at the party, and be able to talk and “play” at their level. Be “on-stage” throughout the party. Thank the parents for choosing a birthday party at our club and encourage them to tell their friend about our program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all decorations, refreshments and supplies needed are on hand
- Decorate the party room, the welcome sign and the birthday banner according to the party’s theme
- Ensure that all pre-party preparations are completed well in advance of arrival time
- Be thoroughly familiar with the curriculum/schedule of activities for the day’s party
- Greet all guests and parents and welcome them to the club
- Escort the party group to the starting point location
- Depending on party theme, lead or assist in leading the party activities
- Keep the party running on time
- Establish rapport with children and parents; show genuine interest
- Always “stay in character” throughout the party
- Ensure that proper child: staff ratios are maintained, and that activities conducted and party environment are safe
- Thank the birthday child and parents for having their party at the club, and solicit informal feedback on satisfaction
- Ensure party room (and any other portion of club used) is picked up, cleaned and returned to original condition
- Return reusable party supplies and equipment to proper storage
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Jr Programming Director
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates, with or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to:
- Write, speak, read, hear and see
- Stand for prolonged periods
- Bend, lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Demonstrate sports skills or activities: jogging, hopping, kneeling, twisting, climbing, etc.
- Set-up and take-down light equipment
- Walk, climb stairs and ladders (to decorate)
