Chemonics seeks a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Senior Specialist for the USAID-funded Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (CFDA). CFDA is a global activity that mobilizes public and private finance and private sector actions that support the transition to an equitable and resilient net-zero economy. CFDA is managed by a core, Washington D.C.-based team of senior experts in impact investing, climate finance, resilient economies, grants and subcontractor management, and inclusive development. In partnership with USAID Missions globally, CFDA co-designs buy-in scopes of work and budgets with Mission teams to implement activities tailored to climate context of countries. It also implements key crosscutting activities, including creating a Climate Finance Investment Network (CFIN) of local and international partners in the global climate finance ecosystem.
Given CFDA’s unique and pivotal role within the climate finance landscape, it is important to gather, analyze, and report on CFDA activities. In line with the project’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting Plan (MECLAP), the MEL Sr. Specialist will report to the CFDA MEL Director and serve as a key focal point for CFDA MEL activities. This position is expected to bill the majority of their time to CFDA with particular focus on the Climate Gender Equity Fund (CGEF), a core activity under CFDA focused on mobilizing public and private sector action to catalyze gender equity in climate finance. Depending on funding flows, this position may also bill time to non-billable activities or other billable projects.
