Chemonics is seeking a Supply Chain Technical practice Associate. The Supply Chain Technical Practice Associate supports the practice management team in advancing supply chain technical knowledge and innovation within the company and industry at large while improving project performance, supporting proposal competitiveness, and spearheading thought leadership efforts. The associate serves as a supply chain technical resource for the practice and division and promotes the technical growth of members of the practice. The associate represents the technical team at internal and external meetings and events, researches, prepares, and presents materials for meetings and events, and conducts and participates in technical practice research and writing. The associate also fosters and supports relationships with external strategic partners. The associate provides an overview of the technical area to all home-office staff, and contributes to relevant technical inputs for new business development. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world!

GHSC-PSM  is the primary vehicle through which the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) procures and provides health commodities for countries receiving U.S. government foreign assistance. GHSC-PSM also provides technical assistance to improve the efficiency, reach, and sustainability of in-country supply chains and is supported with funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative, USAID’s family planning and reproductive health program, and USAID’s maternal and child health program.

 

Responsbilities:

  • Develops practice communication materials including brochures, info-graphics, blog posts, and website material.

  • Organizes logistics for practice brown bags, and moderates discussions for home and field office staff and external consultants.

  • Proofreads and fact checks technical documents

  • Represents Chemonics as a speaker, facilitator, and/or participant in external events including conferences, , and professional society events. Provides logistical support at these events as necessary, including taking notes, preparing report-outs, and networking as appropriate.

  • Supports relationship management with strategic partners for supply chain initiatives and projects

  • Manages corporate memberships to supply chain industry leaders to ensure we meet obligations, make payments and engage with the division for participation and learning opportunities

  • Coordinates with the new business team provide analysis of forecasts and RFPs for emerging supply chain trends of donors

  • Liaises with proposal teams to provide technical resource documents and technical support as needed.

  • Participates and serves as a mentor on proposal teams in specific line roles including, but not limited to, past performance reviews, corporate capabilities, resume formatting, expatriate and local recruitment, coordinator, section writer, cost volume, and managing communications and agreements with potential and selected subcontractors

  • Maintains and manages corporate resource trackers, both incorporating input from others and gathering information from networks.

  • Liaises with projects to support project teams in writing, editing, and submitting conference abstracts, coordinates conference report-outs, and organizes conference notes and action items. Coordinates technical workshop logistics for conference attendees, venue, and materials as needed.

  • Serves as acting practice manager as needed.

  • Mentors and coaches employees at both the practice and project management level; trains home office employees on how to be effective proposal members; coordinates with new business teams to suggest appropriate employee resources for proposal roles.

  • Provides surge support for project management units (PMUs).

  • Conducts billable assignments as short-term technical assistance, report or assessment writer, training or survey facilitator, or analyzing quantitative and qualitative trade data.

  • Facilitates COP orientations, informing attendees about the technical practice and resources that are available.

  • Manages relationships and administrative needs with technical consultants.

  • Supervises administrative staff, interns, or temporary staff as needed for three to six months.

  • May accompany technical director on shadow information gathering assignments.

  • Performs other duties as required .

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum two years of relevant administrative or professional work experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with research, data collection, and data visualization tools preferred.

  • Experience with knowledge management and communication preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communications; strong cross-culture communication and sensitivity skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle routine administrative tasks and operational issues. 

  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail, organization, and time management with minimum oversight.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision, and contributes to projects and initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor others.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving and initiative to learn new skills.

  • Demonstrated interest in the practice’s technical field.

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.

  • Language proficiency for assigned geographic area preferred.

  • Previous experience working in international development and/or living or conducting volunteer work in developing countries preferred.

  • Willingness to travel and work abroad in less developed countries for at least 4 to 8 weeks per year.
