Director of Pharmacy - Full Time

As a full time, exempt CPS® Director of Pharmacy at Marion General Hospital, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team. As the Pharmacy Director, you will provide direction and oversight to the Pharmacy Department which includes  a Pharmacy Manager, Clinical Pharmacist, Staff Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Technicians (Medication Reconciliation Technician, 340B Specialist and Buyer).

Schedule: This position works a minimum of 40 hours per week, primarily daytime hours Monday through Friday.

About the Facility:  Marion General Hospital is a 119--bed acute care hospital, accredited by HFAP, that provides services to Adult and Pediatric residents of Grant County.  Hospital services include Cardiovascular, Neonatal, Surgical, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Radiology, as well as 340B services. CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.

About the Pharmacy:  The inpatient pharmacy is open and provides services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  The pharmacy provides both centralized and provided decentralized clinical services.  Pharmacy systems include MediTech, CPOE, and Pyxis.  Upcoming pharmacy automation implementations include Pyxis IV Prep and Pyxis Logistics.

Requirements:

  • BS or PharmD from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Current Indiana Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment 
  • Previous work experience with 340B programs a plus
  • Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing Pharmacy services and an ability to grow service lines in light of regulatory changes
  • Business acumen including profit/loss understanding, contract negotiations, and GPO function. 

Hospital Requirements: 

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Hepatitis B Series or declination
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
