Director of Pharmacy-Full time
Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (Hospital)

This role will start in November/December 2021

Schedule:  This position works at least 40 hours per week, primarily weekdays with occasional weekend/evening coverage as needed. 

As a full time, exempt CPS® Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team. 

About the Facility: The Milwaukee County DHHS Behavioral Health Division (BHD) connects people of Milwaukee County with dependable, high-quality behavioral health services, no matter their severity of need or ability to pay.  CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.

About the Pharmacy: The Pharmacy is open Monday - Friday from 6:30am – 8pm, and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 6:30am - 4pm.  The Pharmacy software utilized includes CPOE, EMAR and Pyxis.

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Wisconsin Pharmacist licensure in good standing
  • Recent pharmacy management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment
  • Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility
  • ​Involvement with Professional organizations proferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff

Hospital Requirements:

  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
  • Background Information Disclosure (BID)
  • Out of state background check/nation check/FBI fingerprint check (if applicable, BHD will accept any nationally recognized background check)
  • Wisconsin Department of Health Services Letter
  • Crime Information Bureau Report (DOJ)
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
  • COVID19-full vaccination
