Specialty Pharmacy Technician

As a full-time, nonexempt, CPS® Specialty Pharmacy Technician at CMMC, you will work under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.  This position is responsible for the overall coordination and processing of new patient medication orders and reorders.  You will work with both internal and external customers to ensure that orders are processed in a timely manner and meet all financial and clinical requirements prior to fulfillment, including, the provision of customer service and expertise to patients or providers regarding specialty pharmacy enrollment, prescription processing, benefits inquiries, prescription status inquiries, and any other question as it pertains to their account.  The Specialty Pharmacy Technician is responsible for answering incoming calls and completing outbound calls with patients, physicians and pharmacists, and preparing, dispensing and packaging of drugs to be delivered for patient use under the supervision of the pharmacist.

Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday between 8:00am-4:30pm.

About the Facility:  The Central Maine Healthcare  is an integrated healthcare delivery organization serving central and western Maine. CMH's acute care facilities include Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital. Other CMH affiliates provide various outpatient and clinical services and maintain residential care facilities. 
CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience working in retail or other customer service fields
  • Previous experience working in a specialty pharmacy preferred
  • ME Licensure/Registration/Certification requirements
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written
