Brand New Pharmacy Opening in the Spring of 2022

Schedule: This position works at least 40 hours per week Monday thru Friday day shifts. This position includes taking on call.     

As a full time exempt, Pharmacy  Manager with CPS® at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital located in Lake Charles, LA you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the specialty pharmacy service line within the hospital.  Duties include:

  • Ensuring patient’s pharmaceutical needs are effectively met by establishing staffing mix, policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for the provision of services
  • Overseeing the integration of specialty pharmacy practice by coordinating resources to provide maximum level of services to patients and customer
  • Actively participating in building CPS’ relationship with the customer by acting as a key customer contact.
  • Planning, organizing, and directing the specialty pharmacy department efforts to monitor the quality of staff performance and the effectiveness of pharmacy programs.
  • Managing sites finances and participate in departmental budget preparation. Responsible for expense and revenue performance of specialty pharmacies in health system. 
  • Ensuring patient safety by managing medication use processes including prescribing, dispensing, administering, and monitoring patient outcomes. 
  • Supervising, educating, and evaluating staff members. 
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. 
  • Preparing and submitting productivity reports.
  • Periodic consultation with practitioners in the field (i.e.: nurses, prescribers)

About the Facility: Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is the region's largest family-centered medical complex, serving the healthcare needs of Southwest Louisiana. Memorial consists of a 391-bed acute-care hospital, with a 324-bed facility at the main campus on Oak Park Boulevard; Memorial Hospital for Women, a 38-bed women's facility at Gauthier and Nelson Roads; and a 29-bed long-term acute-care facility. The hospital is fully licensed by Joint Commission. CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.

Pharmacy Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Current Louisiana pharmacist license in good standing with the LA State Board of Pharmacy or the ability to obtain one
  • 3+ years of experience in a retail pharmacy
  • 5+ years of experience in a pharmacy supervisory position in a hospital or retail setting
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems

Hospital Site Requirements:  (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
