ECS is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to work in our Washington, DC office (fully remote).

 

Job Description:

  • ECS is looking for a Senior Engineer to serve as team lead on a mission critical cloud platform service for the Department of Homeland Security.
  • The Senior Engineer will be responsible for directly interfacing with the customer,  leading innovation for architecture, tools, and practices within the AWS cloud, and managing a team of 6 engineers.
  • Provide design, analysis, and implementation of Cloud Information Systems Architecture, preferably in more than one Cloud Service Providers that have a FedRAMP P-ATO.
  • Responsible for, or assists in, the designing of interface standards, quality assurance standards, performance standards, and cost-benefit analysis of modem state-of-the art information systems.
  • Analysis and review of available technologies and able to navigate recommendations of technologies to increase security and efficiency of the cloud environment.
  • Effective management of relationships with Federal System Owners and ability to navigate long term projects.
  • Responsible for leading engineers involved in deploying and configuring services using infrastructure as a service for AWS Cloud Leading emergency and tier III level debugging efforts.
  • Identify growth opportunities and lead efforts to grow the customer footprint.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $175,000

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in design, analysis and implementation of information systems architecture.
  • Ability to work directly with federal customers and lead a team of engineers.
  • Capable of independently applying a wide set of engineering disciplines for planning design, analysis, coding, testing, roll-out and support of information systems architectures.
  • AWS Cloud experience.
  • Linux experience.
  • RHEL experience.
  • Ansible experience.
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree.
  • US Citizenship is required per contract.
  • Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust Security Clearance.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Eight (8) years or more of AWS Cloud architecture experience for large, complex government systems.
  • Experience writing Terraform scripts in AWS for complex cloud environments
  • Experience working with Content Delivery Networks like Akamai.
  • Relevant AWS certifications, including, but not limited to:
    • AWS Certified SysOps Developer Associate.
    • AWS Certified Developer Associate.
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
  • Relevant Agile certifications.
  • Relevant Red Hat Ansible certifications.
